FAQ

  • How do I know if I should choose color or black and white for the photograph I want?
A: There are several factors I consider when choosing to print a photograph in color or black and white. For me, the decision to use color or black and white in a photograph is guided by the emotional and aesthetic impact I aim to achieve. Color photography is often chosen for its ability to capture the vibrancy and richness of a scene, making it perfect for subjects where hues and tones play a crucial role in conveying the mood and story. On the other hand, black and white photography is selected to emphasize form, texture, and contrast, stripping away the distraction of color to focus on the essentials of the composition. This timeless approach adds a layer of sophistication and drama, making it an excellent choice for highlighting intricate details and evoking strong emotions. Almost every photograph available is shown in both color and black and white. If the first image of the photograph in a frame is shown in black and white, that means I personally prefer the black and white version of that specific image for aesthetic reasons. You should also consider the location you plan to place your print to help you make the decision. I'm always available to help you make the right choice, so contact me and we can discuss the best option for you.
  • Will I see the entire image in all the print sizes?
All of the photographs were taken and are shown a a 3:2 ratio. Therefore, only the 20"x30" and 24"x36" sizes will show the entire image you see. I will crop the image to the other sizes in the best way to maintain the integrity of the photograph. If you would like to see what the cropped image will look like, please contact me and I'll be happy to share that with you.
  • How do I know what size I should select?
When I am selecting images for wall art, I ALWAYS create a template of the potential size and place it on the wall to get a real visual for how it will look on the wall. Here's how I do it. I have decided I would love to hang a photograph of the Eiffel Tower in Winter in my powder room. My initial thought is to order the 11"x14" size. I know I want to use a frame that has a mat in it, so I add 2" to each side of the print measurements which will bring the size to 15"x20". (This is an estimate. If I want an exact size, I would look online for the measurements of the frame I intend to use.) Using packing paper I cut out a 15"x20" rectangle and hang it on the wall with painters tape. This allows me to visualize the size and placement of the framed image on the wall prior to ordering. I will often leave it there for a couple of days to get used to size before making a final decision. If I don't love the way the first template looks, I'll cut a new size and give that a try. Most often, people will order a print that is too small as they underestimate what it will look like on a wall. This method of using a paper template helps eliminate ordering the wrong size.
  • What if I want a photograph in a size that is not listed on the website?
I have chosen the most popular print sizes to include on the website. Please contact me if there is another size you would prefer and we can discuss options.
  • I like several photographs and I want to hang them on the wall together to create a gallery. I'm not sure if they will look good together. Can you help?
I sure can! If you reach out to me I'd be happy to provide you with a visual of what those images look like together so you can purchase with confidence.
  • I would like to put a quote on one of your photographs. Is that possible?
It is possible to make customized changes to the photographs. Please contact me with your request and we can discuss the changes and the associated additional costs, if applicable. I do reserve the right to refuse customized requests if the end result is not in line with my creative integrity.
